News (November 7th)

Our next meeting is tomorrow and coincidently it is the second to last of the year!

We have a few non-meeting related events coming up:

MSU Family Law Society adopts a family each holiday season from a local domestic violence shelter.  This year they adopted a family from EVE (Lansing's domestic violence shelter).  The family consists of a mom, a two-year old girl, and a three-month old boy. Please bring food items, toys, and clothing to donate to the family. Donations will only be accepted at the meeting this Wednesday; you will receive points for donations.

The 46th Annual UAB Holiday Arts & Crafts Show will take place December 5 & 6, 2009 in the MSU Union Building.   There are 200 artists in the show.  Most of the artists use more than one helper, so the earning potential for your organization could be hundreds of dollars!

The shifts open for volunteering are

Friday, Dec. 4                        6:15 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 5                    5:45 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

Sunday, Dec. 6                      3:45 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

For more information on this event please see handout

Finally remember the meeting tomorrow will begin later than normal at 7:15; we apologize for this inconvenience, but please plan accordingly.  Our speaker for the meeting will be Mark Bush, Esq.  He will be speaking on the issue of employment and labor relational law.  Additionally, if you need participation points, you can attend the Food bank on Wednesday before the meeting.  Please remember to bring the participation sheet and have it signed.

Remember you need 10 points to be considered an active member, we cannot stress this enough. Many of you are currently incredibly close but if you do not know how many points you have make sure you shoot us an e-mail at prelaw@msu.edu or see Mark Kehoe at tomorrows meeting.

We hope you all can make it to the meeting tommorow! see you at 7:15!
